A change of company name in December 1984 was implemented to facilitate easy product identification.

Our main business is to design, manufacture, and distribute Emergency Lighting Equipment and Lighting Components. We are also the specialist contractors for Graphics and Signages of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit System. We designed, manufactured, and installed the entire system in all its 42 stations. In these signages, all electrical back up modules, battery packs are products of Econlite.

With the combinations of the wide industrial experiences of our group, Econlite products are being manufactured completely within our group of companies. In the year 2005, we acquired a 70 year old German company, May & Christe GmbH. The main products are magnetic and ballasts for fluorescent and high-pressure discharge lamps, ignitors, transformers for low-voltage halogen lamps, as well as ballasts for special lamps. A subsidiary factory will be ready for production in Manila by mid-2007. This Asian production will drastically reduce the manufacturing costs, thus making our prices competitive against China manufacturers.

In the past 27 years, we strive to provide our customers with highly reliable products for use in the industrial and commercial buildings. With our continuing efforts in research and development, we are committed to further improve our product quality and services.

Econlite Manufacturing has also been awarded the following ISO 9001 certifications and awards:

1. Certification of Registration by the Building and Construction Authority.
2. Certification of Registration by Quality Management System.
3. Certication of Award for Manufacturing of Emergency Light Fittings and Signcraft by the BSI Management Systems.
