ECONLITE MANUFACTURING PRIVATE LIMITED had its humble beginning in 1980 when it was incorporated in Singapore as PR Industries Pte Ltd. As part of a re-branding exercise in 1984, the company boosted its Board composition and acquired its current name to strengthen its market position. In 2004, to further enhance its financial strength and engineering capabilities, Econlite became part of the Kaicoh Group, an engineering-based investment company with strong capabilities in both manufacturing and R&D.

We are a leading player in the market for the design, supply and installation of signage for Mass Rapid Transit systems, Light Rail systems, Airports and Bus Transport systems. Some of the rail projects we were involved in include Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit System (SMRT), Manila's Light Rail Transit System, Taiwan’s High Speed Rail System, and the Guangzhou and Shenzhen Metros in China. We also supplied the signage and emergency lightings for Singapore Changi Airport’sTerminals 1 and 2. In the area of Bus Transport systems, we were the main contractor for the Layout, Printing and Installation of Public Transport Service Information Panels at bus-stops island-wide in Singapore for a period of 2 years. Econlite is currently supplying signage for 16 out of the 29 stations of SMRT’s new Circle Line, slated for opening in phases from 2009 to 2011.

With R&D and engineering support from our sister companies in the Kaicoh Group, we entered the market for LED lightings in 2006 and also incorporated the use of LED in our signage designs. Our LED light source and downlights are key products in this market segment. One landmark project was the use of our LED light source (“Pentalites”) in the binnacles and other areas of Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 3, opened in January 2008. Our LED is also popular with Singapore’s Town Councils for use in the lighted block number signage of HDB flats.

Our recently launched (August 2009) series of Wide-Angle LED Downlights incorporate Nichia’s state-of–the–art world’s brightest low power LED chip of 140 lumen/watt. Its wide beam angle of 70 degrees provides a coverage not found in other LED downlights. Being of low power and coupled with its world-beating brightness, this is one product that truly provides high light output with low energy consumption. Other LED luminaries in our product range includes the Line Downlight and Display Downlight.

Our Emergency Luminaire business is supported by our in-house manufacturing and R&D capabilities. This covers a wide spectrum of products, ranging from Exit Lights to Emergency Luminaires and Emergency Power Packs. It was our in-house R&D team that designed the innovative long-life energy-saving Slim LED Exit Sign (ELED11) and LED Emergency Light (LP6), popular with many environmentally-conscious customers.
